Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Hold a PhD degree, defended before September 11, 2024.
  • Have a maximum of 8 years of postdoctoral research experience from the date of defense of your PhD until September 11, 2024.
  • Must not have resided or worked in Germany for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before September 11, 2024.

Job Description: The DKFZ is offering Marie Skłodowska Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships in various areas of cancer research, including biochemistry, cancer biomarkers, cancer immunology, machine learning, and more. Fellows will work on cutting-edge projects under the mentorship of world-class scientists, receiving postdoc salary, family allowance, research budget, and access to a global network of fellows and alumni.

  1. Form: “Registration as pre-candidate for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSC-PF, Call 2024)” indicating up to three possible DKFZ Principal Investigators.
  2. CV including list of publications (max. 3 pages) – at least one publication as first author (or shared first authorship) required.
  3. Motivation letter (max. 1 page): describing research interests, career plans, and why the selected Principal Investigators would be a good match.

  • Shortlisted pre-candidates will be contacted by DKFZ Principal Investigators in May and June.
  • Selected candidates will collaborate with PIs to write a proposal for the MSC-PF with DKFZ support.
  • Invited candidates will attend online MasterClasses organized by DKFZ Grants Office in June and July 2024.
  • Submission deadline for the MSC-PF proposal to the European Union: September 11, 2024.
  • Decision on the award of the MSC-PF expected in February 2025, with the earliest fellowship start expected in April 2025.

Note: Submission of a proposal and participation in support activities do not guarantee a postdoctoral position at DKFZ. Employment contract contingent upon award of the MSC-PF by the European Commission.
