Summary

An exciting opportunity is available for accomplished chemistry researchers to contribute to the development of next-generation AI systems capable of advanced scientific reasoning. Researchers will collaborate with leading AI laboratories to improve AI understanding across organic synthesis, catalysis, chemical biology, computational chemistry, materials chemistry, and related domains.

This is a part-time, fully remote W-2 contingent role for researchers based in the United States. Successful candidates will work directly with frontier AI projects while applying their research expertise to train and evaluate advanced AI models.

Job Description

Selected candidates will contribute to the advancement of AI systems for chemistry research by:

  • Reviewing chemistry research papers for accuracy, novelty, and significance.
  • Creating and evaluating challenging chemistry problems for AI training.
  • Assessing AI model performance on:
    • Retrosynthesis
    • Mechanism prediction
    • Spectral interpretation
    • Computational chemistry
    • Scientific literature reasoning
  • Identifying limitations and failure modes in current AI systems.
  • Collaborating with senior researchers and program teams to improve scientific reasoning capabilities of frontier AI models.

Compensation and Engagement

  • Hourly Rate: USD $80–$110 per hour
  • Workload: Up to 20 hours per week
  • Compensation will depend on research seniority, expertise, and academic credentials.
