  • Last intake date for PhD students is Winter 2027.

Job Description

The Canada Impact+ Research Training Awards will provide financial support to outstanding international PhD students conducting high-quality research in specified priority areas at the University of Waterloo. The successful candidates will be required to apply for program admission and will be nominated by a faculty member supervisor.

Application Process:

  1. Identify a faculty member supervisor who will nominate you.
  2. Apply for program admission for either Fall 2026 or Winter 2027 intake.
  3. Confirm your eligibility and coordinate with your supervisor for the nomination process.

How to Apply

  1. Engage with a faculty member at the University of Waterloo.
  2. Complete the graduate application process for the relevant intake.
  3. Once identified for nomination, your supervisor will submit a nomination form by the specified deadline.

Last Date to Apply

  • Application Deadline for Admission: Late January – Early February 2026 (for Fall 2026 intake)
  • Nomination Submission Deadline: February 17, 2026, by 9:00 AM EST
