Core Facility Director: The University of Connecticut (UConn) is seeking a full-time Director for its state-of-the-art neuroimaging core facility located in UConn’s Brain Imaging Research Center (BIRC). The facility houses advanced instrumentation, including a Siemens Prisma 3-Tesla scanner, and supports neuroimaging research in cognition, cognitive neuroscience, language, speech, reading, and other related fields. The Director will oversee the facility’s operations, provide consultations and training, and ensure the facility remains at the forefront of neuroimaging research.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. or equivalent in biomedical engineering, cognitive/computational neuroscience, or related fields
- Minimum of 3 years of post-Ph.D. experience in the neuroimaging field
- Significant expertise in conducting human neuroimaging, particularly functional MRI
- Strong track record of participation in federally-funded large-scale research projects and peer-reviewed publications
- Expertise necessary to support diverse research areas and keep the facility at the cutting edge of neuroimaging
- Ability and eagerness to provide technical consultations and workshops/seminars for faculty and students
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a service-oriented mindset
- Excellent organizational and management skills
- Knowledge of computer programming and high-performance computing
- Commitment to supporting a diverse community
Job Description: The Director of the Neuroimaging Core Facility will be responsible for managing the facility, providing technical support and training to faculty and students, and ensuring the facility remains at the forefront of neuroimaging research. The Director will work closely with researchers from various fields, contribute to consultations and analytical tools, maintain instruments, and deliver workshops and seminars. The University of Connecticut has strong research programs in cognition, cognitive neuroscience, and other related areas. The appointment will fall under the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) Center for Open Research Resources (COR²E) and/or the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS).
