Job Description:

  • Collaborate with the Designer Glycans group to bioengineer plant carbohydrate polymers for biotechnological applications.
  • Utilize your expertise in plant synthetic biology and cell wall glycobiology to remodel the structure and function of plant polysaccharides.
  • Contribute to research projects focused on developing plant-based materials for bioenergy and other applications.
  • Conduct experiments involving genetic engineering of yeast (such as S. cerevisiae or Pichia pastoris) and/or plants (Arabidopsis or Marchantia).
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, and prepare scientific manuscripts for publication.
  • Participate in team meetings, present research findings, and collaborate with international team members.
  • Contribute to the overall research goals of the Designer Glycans group and actively participate in scientific discussions.
