Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or related fields.
  • Skills: Background in nanotechnology, nanomedicine, or biomaterials science; good English proficiency; team spirit and pro-active attitude.
  • Specific Requirements:
  • Must not hold a doctoral degree at the start of employment.
  • Applicants must not have resided or worked in the recruiting country for more than 12 months within the last 36 months.
  • Full-time commitment to research activities is required.

Job Description:

The selected candidate will focus on the development of nanomaterial platforms for the encapsulation of oncolytic viruses to improve stability and enhance delivery to glioblastoma tumors. Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and engineering platforms for virus encapsulation.
  • Encapsulating oncolytic viruses using microfluidic techniques.
  • Evaluating nanoparticle stability and controlled virus release.
  • Assessing the biological fate of encapsulated viral systems.
  • Analyzing experimental data from in vitro and in vivo studies.

Two secondments are included to enhance expertise:

  1. University of Helsinki (3 months, Year 1) – Virus design training.
  2. University of Tor Vergata, Rome (3 months, Year 3) – In vivo transfection studies training.
