Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in physics; Chemistry or materials science/engineering degrees may be considered
- Experience in soft matter physics, ferroelectrics, or multiferroics is beneficial
- Strong interest in and good understanding of physics/physical chemistry
- Knowledge of materials physics and chemistry, polarized light optics, light–matter interaction, and thermodynamics of phases and phase transitions
- Curiosity, passion for scientific research, and commitment to critical thinking and good research ethics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Openness to interdisciplinary research and commitment to teamwork
Job Description: The candidate will actively participate in the SHADOW project, collaborating with two research groups in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Activities include preparing and studying spherical shells with ferroelectric nematic liquid crystals, focusing on their behavior with different boundary conditions. The candidate is expected to contribute to the development of the soft matter physics field, write scientific articles, and engage in teaching and public outreach.
