Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Must comply with MSCA mobility rule: not have resided or worked in Belgium for over 12 months in the last 3 years.
  • Background in Material Flow Analysis, Life Cycle Assessment, cost calculations, and Agent Based Models is a plus.
  • Strong English communication skills (C1 level).
  • Creative, open-minded, and able to work independently and in teams.

Description

The Doctoral Fellow will focus on creating a digital twin of the footwear lifecycle in the EU, utilizing matrix-based modeling to analyze collection, sorting, and recycling scenarios. The role involves collaboration with academic supervisors and industrial co-promoters, contributing to innovative solutions that enhance material reuse in footwear, addressing various aspects such as costs and carbon footprint.
