Eligibility/Qualification
- Master’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Computational Engineering, or a similar field.
- Research experience in numerical modeling of (multiphase) flow.
- Preferably experience with CFD tools using URANS turbulence models and Chimera techniques.
- Interest in academic and project-based research.
- Excellent teaching and communication skills.
- Must satisfy the EU Mobility Rule (not resided or worked in Belgium for more than 12 months in the last 3 years).
Description
The selected Doctoral Fellow will:
- Conduct academic research for a doctoral dissertation on flow-induced vibration simulations.
- Develop and apply techniques for fluid-structure interaction with contact.
- Assist in teaching fluid mechanics and numerical simulation courses.
- Engage in departmental services and participate in training activities within the COMBINE network.
- Complete 6-month secondments at academic and industrial partners.
