Research Area

Description
The successful candidate will:
- Develop a bi-directional FM-index-based search engine for approximate peptide matching.
- Extend existing tools like Unipept for metabolic pathway annotation and SNP-tolerant matching.
- Integrate outcomes into a unified open-source data analysis pipeline, improving taxonomic and functional resolution of metaproteomics datasets.
The position is part of the METAMIC project, funded by the European Commission under Horizon Europe, focusing on microbiome management through metaproteomics.
