Eligibility/Qualification
- Master’s degree in material science/engineering, physics, engineering physics, chemistry, or equivalent.
- Documented experience in materials science, including coursework in:
- Solid-state physics
- Advanced materials characterization/X-ray methods
- Surface science/chemistry
- Semiconductor physics or solar cells
- Good oral and written proficiency in English.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience in X-ray/synchrotron material characterization.
- Knowledge in surface chemical reactions and thin-film technology.
- Familiarity with photovoltaics and/or semiconductor materials.
Job Description
The PhD candidate will conduct research focused on the atomic and electronic structures of thin-film solar cells, particularly their interfaces under real-world conditions. Responsibilities include:
- Participating in research projects and PhD courses.
- Collaborating with fellow researchers and doctoral students.
- Conducting experiments using advanced synchrotron techniques like X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, absorption, fluorescence spectroscopies, and X-ray diffraction.
- Fabricating solar cells and performing data analysis.
- Writing articles for journals and preparing a doctoral thesis.
