Doctoral (PhD) Student Position in Bone Pain Research
Designation: Doctoral (PhD) Student
Research Area: Cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying chronic pain states, with a focus on osteoclasts, immune system activation, and pain signal transmission
Location: Karolinska Institutet, Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, Stockholm, Sweden
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Hold a second-cycle/advanced/master qualification (i.e., master’s degree), or acquired substantially equivalent knowledge
- Proficiency in English equivalent to the course English B/English 6 at Swedish upper secondary school
- Early-Stage Researcher (ESR) meeting the LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE and MOBILITY RULE criteria
- Fluent in English with excellent communication and writing skills
- Previous experience in neuroscience, immunology, and/or behavioral pharmacology considered an advantage
Job Description: The selected candidate will work on a research project investigating the role of osteoclasts in pain regulation, utilizing preclinical models of arthritis in mice. Duties will involve a variety of techniques for joint pathology and bone erosion analysis, immunological and molecular biological tools, in vivo behavioral assays, and analysis of patient samples. The role requires a high level of motivation, independent study, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
