Eligibility/Qualification

A) General Eligibility Requirement

• Awarded a second-cycle/advanced/master qualification (i.e., master’s degree), OR
• Satisfied requirements for courses comprising at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 credits were awarded at the advanced/second-cycle/master level, OR
• Acquired substantially equivalent knowledge in some other way in Sweden or abroad.

B) Specific Eligibility Requirement

• Proficiency in English equivalent to the course English B/English 6 at Swedish upper secondary school.

Skills and Personal Qualities

• Highly motivated candidate with a strong desire to study principles of immune system functions after vaccination and infection.
• Master’s degree in vaccinology, biomedicine, cell biology, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of immunology and experience with relevant experimental approaches (e.g., clinical and preclinical animal study sample processing, RNA isolation, PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, bioinformatical analyses of the B cell receptor repertoire).
• Good communication skills in English and ability to collaborate and work productively in a team.
• Emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and compatibility with lab members.

Scholarship Description

The doctoral student will be employed on a doctoral studentship for a maximum of four years full-time, receiving a contractual salary. This position offers an individual research project, supervision by experienced researchers, a wide range of elective courses, and the opportunity to work in a leading research group collaborating with academic partners, vaccine companies, and funding agencies like the Gates Foundation.
