Doctoral Position in Behavioral Economics: Join the FernUniversität in Hagen, Germany’s largest state distance-learning university, as a doctoral candidate at the Chair of Behavioral Economics and Intercultural Psychology. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Angela Dorrough, you will contribute to research on cross-cultural social interactions, public trust in science, and gender issues, while having the opportunity to write your dissertation within the scope of a DFG project. This part-time position (75%) offers a fixed-term contract for three years.

Doctoral Position in Behavioral Economics and Intercultural Psychology

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • (Nearly) completed above-average university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in psychology, economics, or a related field
  • Academic qualification (e.g., doctorate) with a focus on cross-cultural social interactions
  • Very good knowledge of quantitative research methods
  • Experience or keen interest in cross-cultural psychology and/or behavioral economics
  • Willingness to develop expertise in statistical methods for large-scale datasets
  • Experience with data analysis in R or STATA
  • Excellent command of English; German language skills are a plus
  • Commitment, friendliness, open-mindedness, and ability to work in a team

Description: The successful candidate will be involved in academic self-administration, sharing research findings through conference presentations and publications, and supervising bachelor and master theses as well as student assistants.
