Doctoral Position in Coding for Wireless: The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for a fully funded doctoral position in the area of Channel Coding for Wireless Communications, with a focus on 6G technologies. The position is embedded within a research & development collaboration with a high-tech industry partner. The successful candidate will be employed as a regular TUM employee (full E13 position) and will conduct cutting-edge research at TUMโ€™s Coding and Cryptography Research Group.

Job Description

The doctoral researcher will:

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research in channel coding for next-generation (6G) wireless systems
  • Participate in a research & development project with a high-tech industry partner
  • Work full-time at Technical University of Munich (TUM)
  • Support teaching activities and contribute to organizational tasks within the institute
  • Publish research findings in high-impact journals and conferences

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Scientific research in coding theory and wireless communications
  • Teaching assistance (tutorials, supervision, grading)
  • Contribution to academic and organizational activities of the institute

Eligibility / Qualification

Applicants must have:

  • An MSc degree (with above-average grades) in
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Computer Science
    • or a closely related discipline
  • Prior experience in channel coding (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and mathematical background
  • Motivation for academic research and teamwork
