Designation: Doctoral Researcher
Research Area: NMR spin hyperpolarization, metal-free catalysis, experimental NMR spectroscopy, nuclear spin hyperpolarization using parahydrogen, molecular modeling, and catalysis using metal-free compounds.
Location: Oulu, Finland
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree in chemistry, physics, or equivalent field
- Proficiency in NMR spectroscopy, organic and organometallic chemistry, catalysis, or computational chemistry
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Highly motivated with excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with synthetic chemistry, quantum-chemical software, and the intersection of chemistry and physics is beneficial
Job Description:
As a doctoral researcher, you will be part of a dynamic team at the NMR Research Unit within the Faculty of Science at the University of Oulu. The role involves studying, designing, and applying new types of metal-free catalysts for parahydrogen-induced polarization (PHIP) and signal amplification by reversible exchange (SABRE) using both experimental and theoretical methods. The specific research focus will align with the interests of the doctoral researcher, covering a broad spectrum of topics at the chemistry-physics interface.
