Doctoral Researcher in European Integration: The University of Bremen’s Faculty of Social Sciences is inviting applications for two PhD Researcher positions within the Institute of Intercultural and International Studies (InIIS). These roles are part of a prestigious project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), focusing on the judicial control of EU law implementation.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Political Science or a related field
  • Expertise in policy analysis and qualitative/quantitative research methods
  • Proficiency in English and another European language; working knowledge of German is desirable
  • Interest in European integration and some knowledge of European law is a plus

Job Description

  • Conduct research and write a dissertation within the project “Courts as Governors in the Internal Market?”
  • Collaborate with team members and engage in research unit activities in Berlin, Zurich, and Leipzig
  • Participate in the doctoral program at BIGSSS
  • Conduct interviews and data collection for project publications
  • Travel occasionally for research purposes
