Eligibility/Qualification:

  • An MSc degree in Bioinformatics or a related field.
  • Essential skills include:
  • Proficiency in command line-based tools.
  • Fluent oral and written communication in English.
  • Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with virtual machines.
  • Knowledge of cancer biology and analysis of data generated from specified techniques.
  • Experience in presenting work (e.g., conferences, social media).
  • Personal attributes: Genuine interest in science, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Candidates must have the right to pursue a doctoral degree at the University of Helsinki by the start of the appointment or apply for it within the six-month probationary period.

Job Description:
The candidate will explore how transcription elongation impacts the immune microenvironment of prostate cancer, specifically through the inhibition of CDK9. The project will employ various advanced techniques, including RNA-seq and other sequencing methods, to study cellular responses in normal and cancerous cells.
