Doctoral Researcher Scholarship in Bioimages: The Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology (Leibniz-HKI) invites applications for a Doctoral Researcher position in Automated Processing of Bioimages. The position is part of the research group Applied Systems Biology, focusing on cutting-edge image-based systems biology approaches. The successful candidate will contribute to the automated analysis of microscopy and spectroscopy data using state-of-the-art methods from machine learning and mathematical modeling.

Location: Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology (Leibniz-HKI), Beutenberg Campus, Germany

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, bioinformatics, physics, or a related discipline
  • Strong interest in biological systems with a preference for an educational background in biology
  • Experience in automated analysis of image data
  • Very good programming skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Good communication skills in English

Description: The successful candidate will join the research group Applied Systems Biology led by Prof. Dr. Marc Thilo Figge. The Leibniz-HKI offers a dynamic and committed team, excellent technical facilities, and integration into the Beutenberg Campus’s outstanding scientific environment. The research focuses on experiment-driven interdisciplinary studies using image-based systems biology approaches. The position is for an initial 3 years with the prospect of prolongation.
