Doctoral Scholarship Holder: The University of Antwerp, through its Bio-Imaging Lab in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, is offering a full-time doctoral scholarship for a research project focusing on in vivo MR Imaging in animal models of Huntington’s disease. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the preparation and defense of a PhD thesis in the field of biomedical sciences, neurosciences, and imaging, and publish scientific articles related to the research project.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Neuroscience, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Bio(medical) Engineering, Pharmacology, (Medical) Physics, or related disciplines, or expected completion before starting the position
- Excellent academic record
- Teaching competences aligned with the University of Antwerp’s educational vision
- Research qualities consistent with the faculty and university research policies
- Proficiency in English
- FELASA B/C attest for animal research or willingness to obtain one
- Experience with in vivo experimental neuroscience, neuroimaging, and/or science-related coding platforms preferred
Job Description:
- Actively participate in the preparation and defense of a PhD thesis
- Publish scientific articles related to the research project
- Conduct research at the interface of biomedical imaging, computational and experimental neuroscience
- Utilize rodents to advance understanding of Huntington’s disease pathophysiology
- Engage in bench work and data analysis
- Work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, and international environment
- Contribute to the University of Antwerp’s research and educational goals
