Doctoral Scholarship Opportunity in Vascular Biology Research
Designation: Doctoral Scholar
Research Area: Vascular Biology, focusing on the regulation of lymphatic and blood endothelial cells during vascular development and (cardio)vascular and lymphatic diseases.
Location: UKE_Zentrum für Diagnostik, Department of Institut für Klinische Chemie und Laboratoriumsmedizin (IKL), Hamburg, Germany.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Completed scientific university degree in biology, pharmacy, chemistry, biochemistry, or a comparable natural science degree program
- Interest in cardiovascular and lymphatic system research
- Good knowledge of English and MS Office, with optional knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, ImageJ, and GraphPad Prism
- Ability to work in a team, commitment, flexibility, independence, coordination, and organizational skills
- Complete proof of immunization or immunity against the measles virus in accordance with applicable requirements
Job Description:
- Writing and presenting research results
- Conducting cell culture work, fluorescence and confocal microscopy, atomic force microscopy, RNA and protein isolation, immunoblotting, qRT-PCR, ELISA, and more
- Critical thinking and an analytical mindset
- Planning and executing in vitro and animal studies
- Completion of a dissertation in the natural sciences (Dr. rer. nat./PhD)
