Designation: Doctoral Researcher, PREIN Doctoral Education Pilot

Research Area:
Photonic Sensor Tools for Control of Photonic Manufacturing, focusing on developing a sensor fusion system to control laser-based production processes. The project emphasizes the utilization of modern photonic sensors for thermal, visual, and acoustic emissions, as well as AI-based analysis.

Location: University of Turku, Finland

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant research field such as theoretical physics, physics, materials science, materials engineering, or chemistry
  • Ability to pursue postgraduate studies and complete a doctoral degree according to the research plan
  • Eligibility requirements are specified in the University of Turku’s regulations
  • Residence in Finland is required

Job Description:
The doctoral researcher will be responsible for conducting their own doctoral research, completing doctoral courses, and participating in doctoral training events of the PREIN program. The position involves close collaboration with the PREIN flagships and the development of research projects aligned with the real-world needs of the photonics industry.
