SDoctoral Student in Biology: Örebro University and the School of Science and Technology are seeking a doctoral student in Biology for a fixed-term position to work on the SEASON project. The project focuses on investigating the impact of climate change on sediment contamination risks and is conducted in collaboration with industry partners.

Environmental toxicology/ecotoxicology with a focus on investigating adverse effects caused by environmental toxins.

Location:

Örebro University, Sweden

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A degree in environmental toxicology/ecotoxicology or related fields is required.
  • Extensive practical experience in molecular biology and working with zebrafish.
  • Knowledge and skills in (eco-)toxicology and cell culture testing.
  • Background in laboratory animal science, analytical organic chemistry, and effect-directed analyses are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.

Job Description:

The doctoral student will be involved in investigating molecular and phenotypical effects caused by contaminated sediments under changing environmental conditions using in vitro models and zebrafish. The role includes identifying substances in environmental samples responsible for toxicological effects.
