DSTrain – MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships: The University of Oslo invites applications for the DSTrain program, a 5-year postdoctoral initiative managed by the “dScience – Centre for Computational and Data Sciences.” This program, co-funded by EU Horizon Europe under MSCA-COFUND, will award 36 postdoctoral fellowships in data science, emphasizing collaboration between computational science, natural sciences, and technology. The first cohort comprises 18 positions starting in autumn 2024.
DSTrain – MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships in Computational and Natural Sciences (18 positions)
Designation: Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Research Area: Computational and Natural Sciences (Astrophysics, Biosciences, Chemistry, Geosciences, Informatics, Mathematics, Pharmacy, Physics, Technology Systems)
Location: University of Oslo, Oslo, Norway
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Hold a degree equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in a relevant field.
- Completed doctoral dissertation by the application deadline.
- Fluent in English (oral and written communication skills).
- Fulfill MSCA mobility rules (not resided or worked in Norway for more than 12 months in the last 3 years).
- Possess a doctoral degree at the deadline of the co-funded program’s call.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with interdisciplinary research projects.
- Familiarity with computational/statistical methods.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Independent thinking, creativity, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Description:
- Full-time position for three years (10% devoted to teaching activities).
- Conduct groundbreaking research in collaboration with research groups.
- Emphasis on interdisciplinary research combining data science and natural sciences.
- Integration in research groups with opportunities for cross-sectorial secondments.
- Postdoctoral development programs available.
- Postdoctoral Research Fellows are required to submit a professional development plan.
