E-Refinery Post-Doctoral Positions, TU Delft, Netherlands

Postdoc in Netherlands

E-Refinery Post-Doctoral Positions: Join the cutting-edge research efforts in Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at Delft University of Technology, a renowned institution in the Netherlands. Contribute to the e-Refinery initiative, focusing on electrochemical conversion technology for sustainable production of chemicals and fuels.

  • Designations:
  1. Electrochemical Conversion Research Post-Doc
  2. Atomic Layer Deposition Research Post-Doc
  3. LCA, TEA, and Market Analysis Research Post-Doc
  • Research Area: Electrochemical conversion of nitrate and carbonate streams for sustainable production of urea and high-value chemistry.
  • Location: Delft University of Technology, Netherlands
  • Eligibility/Qualification: Ph.D. in relevant fields such as chemical engineering, chemistry, process engineering, or materials science. Proficiency in experimental and/or modeling skills. Strong English communication and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Job Description:
  1. Electrochemical Conversion Research Post-Doc: Investigate electrocatalytic materials for the reduction of carbonate and nitrate to urea and other C-N products. Develop and implement these materials in an electrolyzer for operation at high current densities. Address challenges related to seawater constituents such as chlorine.
  2. Atomic Layer Deposition Research Post-Doc: Explore the use of atomic layer deposition (ALD) to create novel electrocatalysts for C/N-conversion. Devise approaches to protect these catalysts and enhance their longevity. Collaborate with other researchers to test the catalysts under realistic conditions.
  3. LCA, TEA, and Market Analysis Research Post-Doc: Investigate the economic and environmental implications of different C/N products from electrochemical conversion. Conduct process design, techno-economic assessment, and life cycle assessment. Perform market analysis for various products.
