Eligibility/Qualification
- Applicants must hold a doctorate or equivalent at the start of the fellowship.
- Those who already hold a PhD are eligible only if they obtained it within the last two years prior to the application submission date.
- Applicants must have at least one first-author publication (research paper) in an international peer-reviewed journal or a first-author preprint with verified independent peer reviews.
- Candidates must meet the mobility requirements, including moving to a different country.
- Applications for fellowships to be held in the PhD laboratory, institute, or department are not eligible.
- Reapplications are permitted only once, and projects that are direct continuations of PhD work are ineligible.
- Exceptions to eligibility are made for extraordinary personal circumstances (e.g., parental leave, severe illness).
Job Description
The selected postdoctoral fellows will:
- Conduct novel and biologically significant research.
- Work in a host laboratory suited for their proposed research and training.
- Join a global network of EMBO Fellows and attend an EMBO Laboratory Leadership course.
- Uphold international mobility and collaborative scientific principles.
