Scholarship Description: This PhD position focuses on investigating the biogenesis of the archaeal cell envelope in two model organisms. The research aims to understand the assembly process of the cell’s outer surface and its macromolecular appendages using biochemical, genetic, and imaging methods. Secondments to industrial and academic partners are planned to acquire specific technologies necessary for the project.
Eligibility: To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or related fields. They should demonstrate a strong academic background with an above-average grade in their Master’s degree. Fluency in English and excellent communication skills are essential. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in molecular biology techniques, protein purification, and working with archaea. Applicants must not already possess a doctoral degree and must comply with the MSC Action mobility rule.
