Eligibility/Qualification
- Completed Master’s degree or Diploma from a recognized University in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related engineering disciplines.
- Hands-on experience in protein/enzyme experimental studies.
- Familiarity with biochemical/reaction engineering and modeling.
- Proficiency in English (written and oral).
- Strong analytical skills, independent work capability, and excellent communication for interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Important: Mobility Rule for European Doctoral Networks applies; candidates must not have resided or worked in Austria for over 12 months in the last three years prior to employment.
Description
The successful candidate will focus on the process intensification of a biocatalytic oxyfunctionalization process using Cytochrome P450 (CYP) as a catalyst. This research involves evaluating different reaction setups and reactor concepts to achieve high product concentrations while addressing reaction bottlenecks, guided by machine learning tools. The PhD journey includes research stays in Denmark, Italy, and Sweden.
