European Research Council Studentship: Join a pioneering research project at the University of Leeds investigating non-periodic structures in Metal–Organic Frameworks (MOFs) funded by the European Research Council (UKRI). This fully-funded studentship offers an exciting opportunity to delve into advanced electron microscopy techniques and contribute to cutting-edge research in materials science and engineering.
European Research Council Studentship in Non-Periodic Structures in Metal–Organic Frameworks
Designation: PhD Researcher
Research Area: Non-Periodic Structures in Metal–Organic Frameworks
Location: University of Leeds, UK
Eligibility/Qualification: Applicants should hold at least a first-class or upper second-class British Bachelors Honours degree, or equivalent, in a relevant field such as materials science, chemistry, physics, or engineering. English language proficiency equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in each component is required. UK applicants only.
Job Description: The successful candidate will conduct research focused on characterizing non-periodic structures in MOFs using advanced electron microscopy techniques. Responsibilities include structural and chemical analysis, electron diffraction, spectroscopy, MOF synthesis, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Training will be provided in various analytical methods to drive forward the research project.
How to Apply: Formal applications for the research degree should be submitted online through the University of Leeds website. Clearly indicate in the planned course of study section that you are applying for the PhD in Chemical & Process Engineering with a focus on Non-Periodic Structures in Metal–Organic Frameworks under the supervision of Dr. Sean M. Collins. Further details and application requirements can be found on the university’s website.
Last Date for Apply: The application deadline is Monday, 30 September 2024. Early applications are encouraged as the selection process may close upon finding a suitable candidate.
