Eligibility/Qualification–

For Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences and Related Disciplines

Candidates must possess:

• Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.
• Minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
• Research Score of 120 as per UGC Regulations 2018.
• At least 10 years of teaching/research experience at University, College, or National-Level Institutions.
• Evidence of successfully guiding doctoral candidates.

OR

• Outstanding professionals with a Ph.D. in relevant/applied disciplines and significant contributions to the field with 10 years of experience.

For Engineering Departments

• Ph.D. in the relevant Engineering discipline.
• First Class or equivalent at Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
• Minimum 10 years of teaching/research/industry experience.
• At least 3 years at a level equivalent to Associate Professor.
• Required research publications and Ph.D. supervision experience as prescribed by AICTE/UGC norms.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 60 years as on 01 January 2026.

Job/Position Description- 

The Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Kashmir has released Advertisement Notice No. 07 of 2026 inviting online applications for Professor positions on a permanent or deputation basis across various departments and centres. A total of 16 Professor posts are available in disciplines ranging from Humanities and Social Sciences to Engineering, Basic Sciences, and Interdisciplinary Research. Eligible candidates with distinguished academic and research credentials can apply online through the university website.

Designation: Professor (Academic Level-14)

Selected candidates will:

• Teach undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students.
• Conduct high-quality research and publish in reputed journals.
• Guide Ph.D. scholars and research projects.
• Participate in curriculum development and academic administration.
• Contribute to departmental and university academic activities.
• Promote innovation, interdisciplinary research, and community engagement.
• Perform duties in accordance with UGC Regulations and University Statutes.
