Eligibility / Qualification
To be considered for the fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a completed doctoral degree.
- Have a maximum of eight years of post-doctoral experience.
- Have at least 4 peer-reviewed publications published since January 1, 2022.
- Have at least six months of research or study experience at an academic institution in a country different from where they obtained their first academic degree.

- Maintain a mandatory full-time presence at FRIAS (fieldwork conducted outside of Freiburg cannot be funded during the fellowship period).

- Online Form: Fill out candidate and project information, including a project abstract, Layman’s abstract, ethical issue table, and a motivation statement.
- Evaluators: Provide contact information for 2 evaluators who know you personally and are willing to evaluate your candidacy.

- Project Proposal: Maximum 3000 words (including footnotes/references and up to 4 graphs).
- CV: In tabular form (using the mandatory template provided in the portal).
- Publication List: Maximum of 8 publications in total (must include the 4 qualifying peer-reviewed publications since Jan 2022, using the mandatory template).
- Copy of PhD diploma.
- For Experimental Scientists Only: A letter of support identifying a host lab in Freiburg, plus an experiment sketch and timetable.
