Full-time Postdoctoral Researcher Position at Versteeg and Karagöz Labs, University of Vienna
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Mechanisms of protein degradation and identification of novel regulators of endogenous sources of genomic DNA damage.
Location: Max Perutz Labs, University of Vienna
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD degree in cell- or molecular biology
- Strong background in cell biology and/or mechanisms of protein degradation
- Expertise in cell-based experiments
- Experience in genetic screening by CRISPR-Cas9 and flow cytometry advantageous, but not essential
- Comprehensive theoretical and practical training in molecular biology techniques such as cloning, nucleic acid purification, PCR, Western Blotting, mammalian cell culture, lentiviral transduction, flow cytometry, and microscopy
- Experience in protein purification/biochemistry advantageous, but not essential
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Pro-active, communicative, and a team player with a willingness to learn and develop new techniques and skills
Job Description:
The successful candidate will lead a project to screen for hitherto unknown degraders of cellular DNA deaminase proteins. Collaboration with other lab members on research projects is expected. Training and supervision will be provided, with a high level of independence and drive anticipated.
