Eligibility/Qualification | Admission to Université de Montréal’s Department of Biological Sciences under the supervision of Joan Laur. Funding for 2 years for M.Sc. students ($18.5k/year) and 4 years for Ph.D. students ($23k/year). Previous experience in microbiology, biotechnology, molecular biology, and/or biochemistry is an asset. |
Job Description | As a Master’s or Ph.D. student in applied environmental microbiology, you will lead a research project focused on optimizing organic matter transformation during on-site composting, characterize and modulate the active microbiota to increase bioconversion efficiency of organic residues, and contribute to reducing greenhouse gas production in the composting process. You will collaborate with a large interdisciplinary project team and numerous partners in the field and access training and networking opportunities in an idyllic working environment at the Montreal Botanical Garden. |
