Fully Funded Ph.D. Student Position: The newly established Developmental Epigenetics and Bioinformatics Laboratory at the University of South Bohemia, Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, invites applications for a fully funded Ph.D. student position. The prospective student will be involved in cutting-edge research on epigenetic reprogramming and transposon activity in the female germline of long-lived African mole-rats and other non-model rodents.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • MSc. degree or equivalent in developmental or molecular biology by June 2024
  • Previous experience in low input next-generation sequencing library preparation, epigenetics techniques, or germ cell biology is advantageous
  • Positive attitude towards bioinformatics is an advantage

Job Description: The Ph.D. student will utilize state-of-the-art sequencing and imaging approaches to investigate epigenetic reprogramming and transposon activity in the female germline of long-lived African mole-rats and other non-model rodents.
