Location: Oslo, Norway

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • MSc degree in computer science, biostatistics, bioinformatics, biomathematics, or relevant field
  • Less than 4 years since the completion of the first MSc degree
  • Transnational mobility: Must not have resided or carried out the main activity in Norway for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to recruitment
  • Good English language skills
  • Experience in bioinformatics data analysis tools for omics data analyses
  • Programming skills (e.g., Python, R) and proficiency in version control tools (e.g., Git)
  • Previous knowledge of cancer research and preclinical model systems considered advantageous

Description:
The Mac4Me Doctoral Network offers a 3-year fully-funded PhD researcher position focused on developing multi-modal AI to define macrophage and immune targets for improved anticancer immunotherapy. As part of a multidisciplinary, pan-European network funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Network programme, the successful candidate will work on integrating spatial transcriptomics and single-cell RNA-sequencing data, identifying tumor cell-macrophage interactions, and applying multi-modal AI algorithms to define new targets for improved immunotherapy. This position will provide unparalleled learning opportunities, including short-stay research visits to network partners.
