Functional Genomics Postdoc Researcher: Bayer is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Functional Genomics Postdoc Researcher to contribute to the Biotechnology R&D department. This position will focus on generating and analyzing functional genomics datasets that will be applied to our product pipeline through innovative machine learning approaches.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Mandatory:
  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experimental expertise with functional genomics data (e.g., RNA-seq, DNA methylation, chromatin accessibility)
  • Proven experience with machine learning and/or statistical modeling for biological data analysis
  • Understanding of molecular genetics and quantitative genetics
  • Excellent innovation and productivity track record
  • Preferred:
  • Experience with genome-wide expression datasets and predictive analytics in plants
  • Experience in molecular genetics, quantitative genetics, and systems biology

Job Description:

  • Generate functional genomics datasets and analyze their application to our product pipeline using machine learning techniques.
  • Work on datasets from tissue-specific RNA-seq, methylation, and chromatin accessibility experiments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, conduct, and interpret experiments aimed at leveraging functional genomics, field, or gene expression data to improve biological system performance.
  • Conduct high-throughput molecular biology experiments to validate gene expression predictions through machine learning/statistical modeling.
  • Utilize cloud computing environments to process and analyze data at scale.
  • Provide comprehensive reports on research findings and present results to wider R&D teams.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and best practices in the laboratory environment.
