Funded FPI PhD Position: We are excited to announce a fully funded PhD position (FPI, granted by the AEI) within the groundbreaking project “Energy Funnelling in Nanostructured Semiconductors.” This project aims to delve into the optical exploration of energy transport within nanostructured semiconductors under externally applied pressure. By utilizing nano indentation and advanced microscopy techniques, we seek to visualize energy transport at sub-nanosecond and few-nanometer scales, ultimately enhancing energy carrier manipulation and device efficiency.

Job Description: In this role, you will be an integral part of the innovative project team investigating energy transport within nanostructured semiconductors. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with a team of researchers to study energy transport phenomena under externally applied pressure.
  • Utilizing nano indentation techniques to introduce controlled energy gradients within the semiconductors.
  • Employing advanced time-resolved microscopy techniques to visualize energy transport at sub-nanosecond and few-nanometer scales.
  • Analyzing experimental results and contributing to the development of novel energy manipulation strategies.
  • Publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at scientific conferences.
  • Engaging with multidisciplinary research methodologies and collaborating with experts in the field.
