Dr. S.S. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (Dr. SSB UICET), Panjab University, Chandigarh has invited applications for 04 contractual positions of Professor of Practice (PoP) and Associate Professor of Practice (Associate PoP) in the field of Chemical Engineering. The institute is looking for experienced industry professionals who can bridge the gap between academia and industry by mentoring students, teaching practice-oriented courses, and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. Eligibility / Qualification

Professor of Practice (PoP)

Candidates should satisfy any one of the following:

• Ph.D. with 10 years of relevant experience in a large conglomerate; or
• Master’s degree with 15 years of relevant experience in a large conglomerate; or
• B.Tech. with 17 years of relevant experience in a large conglomerate; or
• Ph.D./Master’s/B.Tech. with at least 5 patents and 5 years of experience in a start-up.

Note: A Ph.D. is desirable for guiding Ph.D. scholars but is not mandatory for teaching.

Associate Professor of Practice (Associate PoP)

Candidates should satisfy any one of the following:

• Ph.D. with 5 years of relevant experience in a large conglomerate; or
• Master’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience in a large conglomerate; or
• B.Tech. with 12 years of relevant experience in a large conglomerate; or
• Ph.D./Master’s/B.Tech. with at least 5 patents and 3 years of experience in a start-up.

Note: A Ph.D. is desirable for supervising Ph.D. research but is not mandatory for teaching.

Job Description

Selected candidates will be expected to:

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses as per university norms.
• Design and introduce practice-oriented courses.
• Mentor students in academic, innovation, and entrepreneurship projects.
• Guide students by connecting them with industry experts and stakeholders.
• Strengthen industry-academia collaborations.
• Supervise Bachelor’s projects and start-up initiatives.
• Support the establishment of industry-sponsored laboratories and CSR projects.
• Conduct practical classes and other academic activities.
• Promote industry-institute linkages and practical learning.

Appointment & Honorarium

• Appointment will be purely contractual.
• The initial engagement will be reviewed after one year.
• Extensions, if approved, will be granted one year at a time based on performance.
• Leave will be governed according to Panjab University rules.

Monthly Honorarium

• Professor of Practice: ₹60,000 per month
• Associate Professor of Practice: ₹50,000 per month
