HIF International Scholars Fellowship: Hosei University is offering the International Scholars Fellowship to young international researchers who are either enrolled in a doctoral program or have recently obtained a doctoral degree. This fellowship provides an opportunity to conduct research at Hosei University under the guidance of the university’s faculty members and researchers. Location:

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Must be a foreign national (including stateless individuals or foreign nationals residing in Japan).
  • Must be enrolled in a doctoral degree program or have obtained a Doctorate no more than 8 years ago as of April 1, 2026, or its equivalent as recognized by the University. Periods of childcare leave will not be included in this “8 years”.
  • Sufficient fluency in either Japanese or English.
  • Must not have been a previous recipient of this fellowship.
  • Must not be currently enrolled in Hosei University.

Job Description:

  • Conduct research at Hosei University under the guidance and cooperation of faculty members.
  • Submit a research report (approximately 30 A4-sized pages) in Japanese or English to the Global Education Center within one month after completing the research program.
  • Publicly announce research results within two years of completion, acknowledging the support of the HIF Fellowship.
  • Present research findings to Hosei University faculty, staff, and students through lectures and seminars during the fellowship period.
