The IMMERGE project spans diverse research areas, including biology, medicine, biochemistry, bioinformatics, and related disciplines. Each Ph.D. project offers a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research in these fields.

Scholarship Description:

This initiative, funded by the Horizon Europe programme, provides a platform for 12 Doctoral Candidates to engage in cutting-edge biomedical research. Successful candidates will be part of an international collaborative effort, working with leading institutions across Europe. The projects cover a wide spectrum of research areas, offering a unique opportunity for professional growth and contribution to the scientific community.

  • 3-year full-time employment contract (salary depends on the country of the recruitment considering both the local and MSCA DN regulations for DCs and their family status at the time of the recruitment, that is the starting date of the contract)

Eligibility:

We invite applications from Doctoral Candidates worldwide who meet the following criteria:

  • Must not hold a doctoral degree at the time of recruitment.
  • Must not have resided or worked in the recruiting country for more than 12 months in the last 36 months.
  • Must possess a master’s degree relevant to the chosen position or equivalent, obtained one month before the contract starts.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.

  • Motivation letter showcasing writing quality, match of interest, and strengths.
  • Complete the survey available on IMMERGE website.

The application process is entirely online. Visit the IMMERGE website and submit your application in English. Each applicant can apply to a maximum of three individual research projects. For multiple applications, please upload a single file containing different motivation letters.

  • The IMMERGE Recruitment Board (RB) and Supervisory Board (SB) will oversee the eligibility and recruitment process.
  • Evaluation criteria include academic merit, experience, mobility, publication track-record, and motivation letter quality.
  • The top 3 candidates for each position will be invited to an online recruitment workshop in January.
  • Successful candidates will be part of a reserve list for future positions.
