Eligibility/Qualification
- Completed academic university degree and a doctorate in biology, biochemistry, agricultural sciences, bioinformatics, or related disciplines by the time of employment.
- Proven scientific excellence with a molecular biological/genetic or bioinformatics focus.
- Expertise backed by peer-reviewed publications.
- Advanced practical experience in one of the specified areas within plant sciences.
- Ability to conduct teaching duties in agricultural science degree programs (4 semester hours per week).
- Willingness to engage in collaborative research within plant molecular biology, protein biochemistry, and bioinformatics.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; knowledge of German is advantageous.
- Motivation to develop an independent research direction with a 2–3 page outline for a potential research project.
Job Description
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Establish and lead their own research project in one of the specified areas.
- Engage in scientific collaborations within an active research community.
- Combine methodological approaches in molecular genetics/biology, structural biology/protein biochemistry, or bioinformatics.
- Take advantage of advanced infrastructure, including high-end plant growth chambers, molecular biology laboratories, and high-performance computing resources.
- Contribute to teaching in agricultural science degree programs.
- Participate in an optional integration into CRC 1664 – Plant Proteoform Diversity – SNP2Prot.
