  • Photoprotection Mechanisms in Crops (Biotechnology)
  • FPGA-Based Hardware Acceleration for Post-Quantum Cryptography (Physics/Telecommunications)
  • Development of Photonic Integrated Circuits (Photonics/Engineering)

Location:
ICFO, Barcelona, Spain

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics, Telecommunication, Computer Science, Electronics, or related fields.
  • Strong academic record and research experience.
  • High proficiency in English.
  • No prior PhD awards.
  • Must meet the MSCA mobility requirement: The candidate must not have resided in Spain for more than 12 months during the past 3 years.
  • Applicants should not have been previously admitted into the ICFO doctoral program unless there has been a substantial change in their academic circumstances.

Job Description:
The selected candidates will join the FLIGHT Fellowship Program and work on the following research projects:

  • IT008: Investigation of how crops balance sunlight usage and minimize photodamage (Biotechnology).
  • IT009: Development of FPGA-based hardware for post-quantum cryptography (Quantum Physics).
  • IT010: Design and fabrication of devices based on photonic integrated circuits (Photonics/Engineering).

Candidates will work closely with supervisors from ICFO and partner organizations, participate in secondments of 6-18 months at industrial partners, and develop their research in a highly interdisciplinary environment.
