International Visiting PhD Projects: The MRC Human Genetics Unit (HGU) at the University of Edinburgh, UK, in collaboration with the Max Delbrück Center (MDC) in Berlin, Germany, is offering fully-funded 3.5-year international visiting PhD studentships in Human Genetics, Genomics, and Disease. MRC International Visiting PhD Projects in Human Genetics, Genomics, and Disease
Study Area: Human Genetics, Genomics, Disease, Biomedical Sciences
Location: University of Edinburgh, UK (primarily) and Max Delbrück Center, Berlin, Germany
Eligibility/Qualification: Candidates should hold a UK or international 1st class or 2.1 degree, or a Masters in any relevant discipline in biological or biomedical sciences. All applicants, regardless of nationality, must satisfy the University of Edinburgh’s English language requirements. Studentships are open to applicants worldwide.
Description: Successful candidates will undertake collaborative research projects between the MRC Human Genetics Unit in Edinburgh and the Max Delbrück Center in Berlin. These projects offer an opportunity to tackle challenging questions in biomedical research, utilizing state-of-the-art infrastructure and receiving mentorship from leading experts in the field. Studentships include full funding covering tuition fees, research consumables allowance, and an enhanced UKRI stipend of £20,122 per annum.

- Select the start date as September 2024 before clicking the “apply” button.
- Outline your research interests in the Research Topic section and specify the project title you are applying for in the Research Project section.
- Provide details of two academic referees in the Referees section and ensure to select “yes” in the email reference request section.
- Upload undergraduate/postgraduate degree certificates/transcripts and, if applicable, English language certificates as supporting documents. A research proposal is not required.
