Location:
- Québec, Canada (Postdoctoral researcher is expected to be based in Québec for the duration of the funding, except in the case of specific international internship opportunities for Québec-based candidates).
Eligibility/Qualification:
- A completed PhD (or expected completion by funding start) within the last 5 years.
- Applicants must enroll in a postdoctoral program at one of the following partner universities:
- HEC Montréal
- McGill University
- Polytechnique Montréal
- Université de Montréal
- Université Laval
- Strong interest in AI research, specifically within the themes of the R3AI initiative.
- International candidates are welcome; must obtain appropriate permits (e.g., work permits) for the duration of the stay.

Job Description:
As a postdoctoral researcher under the IVADO Postdoctoral Research Funding Program, you will:
- Conduct original research in AI-related fields that advance the R3AI initiative.
- Collaborate with leading experts in AI, neuroscience, and other related fields.
- Engage in interdisciplinary projects with potential for real-world application in sectors like health, climate change, and societal impacts of AI.
- Contribute to the development of a more robust, reasoning, and responsible AI ecosystem.
- Participate in the Québec AI ecosystem, gaining invaluable experience and connections in both academic and industrial sectors.
- Serve as a leader in the promotion of equity, diversity, and inclusion within the AI research community.

- A completed application form on the IVADO Portal, including a description of the postdoctoral project (max. two pages).
- A funding plan for the $20,000/year in research funds (for students, travel, subsistence).
- CV (in PDF, free format).
- Official PhD transcripts (with grading scale explanation if from a non-Canadian university).
- At least two but no more than three letters of recommendation.
- A list of up to 3 potential eligible supervisors.
- Optional: A letter of support from a potential eligible supervisor if they have already committed to providing $20,000/year in additional salary.

Funding Details:
- Annual Salary: $80,000 (including social benefits), consisting of $60,000 funded by IVADO and $20,000 funded by the supervisor.
- Research Funds: $20,000/year for research-related expenses.
- Funding Duration: 2 years (conditional on annual report submission).
- Start Date: Between April 1 and September 1, 2025.
