James Madison Program Postdoctoral: The James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University is accepting applications for Postdoctoral Research Associates for the academic year from September 1, 2024, to September 1, 2025. This fully funded, 12-month appointment aims to advance scholarly excellence in constitutional law and political thought. Researchers will engage in research, public discussion, and potentially teaching, contributing to the intellectual life of Princeton. The Program encourages recent Ph.D. recipients to apply and offers access to university facilities and activities.

Eligibility/Qualification: Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree awarded within the last three years (no earlier than September 1, 2021). All Ph.D. requirements must be met by June 30, 2024. The position is open to all, regardless of citizenship. Successful candidates will be evaluated based on the significance of proposed research, quality of past research, and potential contribution to higher education. This position is subject to the University’s background check policy.
Job Description: The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be fully funded for 12 months with benefits. Responsibilities include devoting full time to proposed research, participating in Program activities, and, if approved, engaging in teaching opportunities. Researchers must be in residence in Princeton or the local vicinity and may not be employed by another institution during the appointment. The position encourages attendance at faculty-student seminars, colloquia, and public lectures.
