Eligibility/Qualification

  1. Age Requirement: Under 35 years old (born on or after April 2, 1991).
  2. Academic Requirements:
  • For Master’s Course: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 70% marks, to be obtained by September 30, 2026.
  • For Doctoral Course: Master’s Degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 70% marks, along with practical research/teaching/work experience post-master’s, to be obtained by September 30, 2026.
  • Humanities and Social Sciences: Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 65%.

Job Description

The scholarship is designed for students who wish to conduct advanced research in their chosen fields at recognized Japanese universities. The scholarship encompasses funding for tuition, monthly stipends, and travel expenses, enabling scholars to focus on their academic and research objectives.

  1. Submit the Preliminary Application: Complete the Preliminary Application Form and email it as a Microsoft Word attachment to scholarship-india@nd.mofa.go.jp.
  2. Application Form Format: Ensure the file is a Microsoft Word document and does not exceed 1 MB.
  3. Deadline for Preliminary Application: Applications must be submitted by May 13, 2025, by 11:59 PM.
  4. Post-Screening Steps: Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit additional supporting documents and participate in further selection rounds.
