Junior Postdoc Position in Inorganic Materials: The Functional Inorganic Materials team at the Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol), University of València, is offering a Junior Postdoc position. The candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Víctor Rubio-Giménez and Prof. Sergio Tatay in the research project: Thin Films of Ultrastable Metal-Organic Frameworks for Electrocatalysis (PID2023-150383OB-I00), funded by Proyectos de Generación del Conocimiento 2023. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with expertise in vapour deposition and crystalline thin films, and an interest in electrocatalysis.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Nanoscience, or a related field obtained within the last 3 years.
- Candidates expected to complete their PhD by the end of 2024 are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience in vapour deposition and the characterization of crystalline thin films.
- Proficient in English (both written and oral communication).
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with characterization techniques for MOF thin films and powders (XRD, SEM, AFM, gas physisorption, etc.).
- Background in electrocatalysis and synchrotron expeditions.
- Motivation to apply for postdoctoral fellowships in upcoming EU, Spanish, or Valencian calls.
Job Description:
- Conduct research in the area of thin films of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for electrocatalysis.
- Characterize thin films using various advanced techniques such as XRD, SEM, AFM, and more.
- Draft research reports and manuscripts for publication.
- Collaborate with the project supervisors and actively participate in the Functional Inorganic Materials team.
- Support future applications for individual postdoctoral fellowships.
Duration and Start Date:
- Initial contract duration: 1 year (renewable).
- Start Date: No later than February 2025.
Economic Conditions:
- Average annual gross salary: €27,878.76, with potential seniority supplements (€715/year for every 3 years of seniority).
- End-of-contract compensation.
