Eligibility/Qualification:
- Applicants must have earned a doctoral degree within two years prior to the start of the fellowship (i.e., for 2026 recipients, no earlier than May 1, 2024).
- Candidates should be emerging researchers showing potential for original thought, intellectual rigor, and discipline.
- A faculty member with a primary appointment in the College of Arts & Sciences must agree to serve as the faculty host.
- Candidates with more than two years of postdoctoral experience or those who received their PhD from Cornell or held any position at Cornell for over six months are not eligible.
- Applicants who have earned an undergraduate or master’s degree from Cornell may apply.
Job Description:
Klarman Fellows will have the opportunity to develop and execute their own research projects without the constraints of specific outcomes tied to grants or teaching duties. The fellowship allows for autonomy and support from their faculty host throughout the duration of the appointment. The fellowship is a residential program that requires fellows to be based in Ithaca with limited absences permitted for research purposes.
