Eligibility/Qualification:
- Recent Ph.D. (within the last 1-3 years) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Environmental Microbiology, Plant Biology, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related field
- Extensive experience in characterizing secondary metabolites from microbes and/or plants using mass spectrometry data
- Experience performing bioactivity assays and using HPLC for secondary metabolite fractionation
- Knowledge and experience in culturing microorganisms
- Strong statistical analysis skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical reports and publish scientific papers
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with diverse interdisciplinary research teams
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in Molecular Biology, Microbial Physiology, and/or Metabolomics
- Experience working with plants
- Training in natural product chemistry or related fields
- Advanced knowledge of natural product biosynthetic pathways and biosynthetic gene clusters
- Experience with LC-MS/MS and/or NMR
- Strong background in analytical instrumentation
Job Description:
- Conduct LC-MS/MS based metabolomic analyses to characterize secondary metabolites produced by soil microbes and plants.
- Fractionate secondary metabolites and investigate their biological activities.
- Utilize fabricated ecosystems to study how secondary metabolites mediate activities within the rhizosphere.
- Analyze and integrate research results.
- Publish scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at seminars and conferences.
