Job Description
The Michigan Pioneer Fellows will engage in research at one of the participating units at the University of Michigan, working under the mentorship of refined faculty members. The fellows are expected to implement their research plans effectively, participate in training and networking activities, and compete for external funding.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct full-time research and maintain a lab presence.
- Develop and manage research projects under the guidance of mentor(s).
- Hold biweekly meetings with primary mentors and semi-annual meetings with a mentoring committee.
- Dedicate approximately 10% of the time to programmatic activities.
- Participate in essential training and career development workshops.
Professional Development:
- Monthly meetings with Program Directors for career development.
- Rigorous training sessions in grant writing, scientific communication, and lab management.
- Opportunities to attend scientific meetings and participate in annual symposiums.
